a Pursuance Platform for worldwide collaboration ?.

Interesting idea of founding a network of people supporting each other in working for or towards a better world for everyone, as i understand it.

In the ages of rage and fake news, has a lot of potential.
Seems to be in line with the Ethics or Culture of The Sharing Economy.

Find joy, fun, and a small income by working for the people, not the bank account. In being founders, this also means that we have to work ourselves up from crap, towards beauty and reduction and excellence. There’s so many powerful tools out there, but only the best ones get the point of finding a measure for excellence, not massivity of overloading features.

If we want to reach many people, remember there are more than 4.000.000.000 people out there who haven’t even got the money for an old Laptop or PC. Maybe the greatest potential of enthusiastic followers in the whole world, not only for a process democracy project.

So i’m not sure if i follow that project 100% here, but it seems to have something.
Be invited to make up your own mind about it. Would be great to hear a few opinions.

Let’s not forget in being base democrats, our mission is to empower the people, not the next king of the world. We the people, united in online democracy, with a same value of 1 for every person on earth. Fair right of participation, as a basic requirement for justice and chances for a successful life, in all its decent modesty. Sharing is Caring.

If we follow that guideline, all is fine. Nothing is perfect today, but we are targeting something, here: a better world for everyone. So what are you working on, today?

The Pursuance Project – Impactful, agile, secure civic collaboration

The pursuance system is the world’s first comprehensive framework for process democracy. That is, it allows individuals with no prior relationship to self-organize into robust, agile entities governed via a “proceduralism of agreement.” These entities, called pursuances, in turn engage and collaborate among themselves to whatever extent they choose, leading ultimately to a vast and formidable ecosystem of opposition to institutionalized injustice. (Excerpt from Project description)

This system will be populated on an invitation basis, beginning towards the end of 2017. But Barrett has initiated a collaboration with Pirate Parties InternationalRaymond Johansen, activist and member of the board of PPI is now in the process of populating several rooms in Mattermost, soon to begin onboarding people into an alpha version of the Pursuance System. PPI’s usage of and feedback on the software will help Pursuance’s software developers…

Do You Have the Courage to Doubt?

another great Article about Social behavior by Robert Koshinskie. My recommendation.

ringbolt consulting services

Do you have the courage to question your own understanding of the world, doubting a cherished belief that may not be supported by evidence? Would you be a better leader, team member and citizen if you did? Researcher Brendan Nyhan seems to have this kind of courage.

FacingFactsWordCloud4Nyhan was one of the researchers whose work evolved into the popular backfire effect, a widely reported behavior where once a person forms a belief, then offering objective evidence to the contrary causes the person to dig in their heels and defend the belief even more firmly. Now, Nyhan is considering new research that may refute the backfire effect.

The newer research considered claims regarding violent crime bantered about during the 2016 Presidential election and people’s perception/beliefs. Providing corrective information reportedly led people to adjust their opinion about their original belief on crime trends – but not necessarily related beliefs; for example…

is it selfish to donate?

Foreword.

interesting thoughts here. would anyone be interested in a public list of donators on the website? – with Dynamic Applications, it would have to be fully automated, or it won’t work out in the long run (with 99 ct donations). There’s probably a way to allow everyone donating to enter their Website and Name if they want, but if you do it like that, it’s really more like “selling a back-link for a donation” for interested parties…

As for myself, i think the key driver for me to publish my work as freeware (also a kind of donation or contribution, isn’t it?)

It is really the wish to do something reasonable or senseful and find confidence myself in being a provider or “builder” of something useful. So my lifetime was not all wasted. So, i wish to provide something really useful, but at the same time stay private. It’s definitely not a rock-star thing. I love the fact to have thousands of downloads from all over the world (virtual fame), but at the same time just walk out of the door here in this small village, and my neighbor or the people next street never visited my website and treat me just as the guy they’ve seen around who’s living somewhere next door. So that everything stays normal, in a way.

from my perspective, it’s an inventor thing. There’s rockstars and then there’s also inventors, amd i’m not saying rockstars won’t work hard for their success as well. I think there’s a difference in motivation or basic need. Apart from that, as for the key question, here at Dynamic Applications, we’re so happy about a donator, that i’d rather say the 999 others are selfish, if at all. We offer everyone to pay with a Tweet. And from my perspective, that personal recommendation may be worth much more (since 2016, 10 thousands of people from all over the world have recommended, faved or retweeted us). Just my 2 ct.

charity shop

Can we give without the expectation of compensation for this action?   After my very first donation at the nearby charity shop, I caught myself thinking „I have contributed to the community so I am to be praised for covering these opportunity costs”.     Am I a hypocrite fallen angel? After investigating the issue, I am relieved that even philosophers have contemplated about the existance of pure unselfishness.

Being socialized in a secular society I looked for factual evidence to justify my shameful narcissism. According to the scientific approach the way our own brain is wired is responsible for our unique personalities and preferences. Our decision-maker centers consist of neurons  incorporating the wisdom of the whole evolutionary process. Individuals willing to come together and meet the needy’s necessity definitely have contributed to the survival of the species. Here roots the reasons charitable giving activates the pleasure center of our brains.

Should You be Hiring Wrestlers?

very unconventional thoughts on the possibilities of funding a company in a more agile, energetic way.

interesting, interesting, and well-founded with links to read on!

an overview by Robert Koshinskie.

ringbolt consulting services

Most businesses seem to be organized in a traditional pyramid hierarchy like a football team.  In this team model those at the top of the pyramid (coach/CEO) attempt to drive outcomes by “calling the plays” and expecting that the rest of the team follows a formal playbook.  This model has served the business world well by certain organizational measures, however, such organizations also may suffer when management from a distance confounds effective daily operations.

Top-down organizations are by no means the only way to achieve success as demonstrated by companies such as Semco where empowered teams can move forward confidently and independently.  Approaches such as Dynamic Governance facilitate the crafting of policy through inclusive decision-making that links team objectives to broad goals of the firm.  Teams are then permitted to achieve results through self-organization and management on a day-to-day basis without seeking or requiring further involvement from the executive level while observing policy that they helped formulate.

If traditional business organization is rightly analogous to…

Consent for Better and Faster Decisions.

Very interesting thoughts about reaching a Consensus based on fairness so that everyone in a Team is willing to participate and work on or with the results, as they believe in the participation culture.

it’s rare for an inventor to meet people where you instantly see they have more or alternative thoughts to what you offer yourself, so finally, a true source of inspiration.

my personal recommendation.

While exploring governance in business over the past couple of years I encountered both Sociocracy and Holacracy.  Both of these approaches to governance have been associated with self-directed groups, and both have wrongly been identified as forms of anarchy.  I’ve read about these approaches, attended introductory workshops, and participated in discussion groups –  but I don’t claim expertise (I’m not a trained facilitator in either Sociocracy or Holacracy).   I have applied some of what I’ve learned in daily practice, particularly consent decision-making which I feel can lead to better and faster decisions.

What is Consent Decision-Making and Why Use It?

The basic idea behind consent decisions (aka formal consensus) is that the consent process splits-the-difference between autocratic decisions that are quickly mandated, and endless debate as can be encountered in group consensus decision-making:
